My name is Audra, and I am the owner and operator of Restorative and Healing Arts in Orange Beach, Alabama. My educational background includes an AAS in therapeutic massage and a BSN in nursing. ‘Go Jags!’ I’m also a licensed tattoo artist with specialized training in medical tattoos, nipple-areola complex tattoos and NUE Conceal certified and trained in scar camouflage and regeneration tattoo therapies. It is my hope that through this business venture I can help facilitate a nurturing and supportive environment whether through therapeutic massage and bodywork or medical tattoo services to aid you in your journey of self-growth. I hope to work within my community collaborating with other specialized professionals to help get people where they need to be for whole-body wellness.
I graduated from massage school in June 2006 followed by the NCLEX for both massage and bodywork back when it was an option to do one or both and after moving home in 2007, I have practiced massage therapy and bodywork in Baldwin County, AL for the last 18-years. I have attended countless hours of seminars over these last 20-years studying massage for clients from birth with becoming a certified as both an infant massage instructor and pediatric massage therapist to learning athrossage for arthritis and end of life massage for palliative care and cancer patients. I’ve taken classes and achieved certifications in everything from traditional western massage and medical advancements to Chinese and ayurvedic practices and so many things between. I’ve watched the massage practice as a hole continue to gain a foot hold in alternative medicine and massage therapists’ employment opportunities advance from spas into hospitals around the nation. Look what we’ve done!! My local working history includes almost two decades of spa treatments and massages in Aveda spas, working with a local chiropractic business in Orange Beach, and maintaining my independently owned outcall massage service. I’m bringing all that to the ‘table, for each and every client and booked service with Restorative and Healing Arts.
I have fallen in love with the ability to make not only a physical impact but, for some, a spiritual and emotional one as well. I have traveled across the United States to seek Medical Tattoo & Permanent Makeup training from the field’s most experienced professionals. Many of these medical and cosmetic estheticians have brought their experience and expertise from around the world to teach advanced tattooing skills, here in the States. I’ve learned not only the skills of the trade but a love for the work and the people it impacts.
During my training, I’ve had the tremendous blessing to work with burn victims, breast cancer survivors, survivors of self-harm, and men and women alike with surgical and life scarring. I’ve seen first hand the difference it can make in someone’s life to have a physical scar worked on and the appearance fade into the background along with the daily reminder of the emotional pain held within those very scars.
