My name is Audra, and I am the owner and operator of Restorative and Healing Arts in Orange Beach, Alabama. As a woman now in my 40’s, I have spent the majority of my life as a wife and mother. My husband and I have raised 5 of our 7 children into adulthood and welcomed our first two grandchildren into the family in 2024. I’ve worn many hats in my life but none have been as fulfilling as the ones I wear when my role consists of giving of myself, in love. There’s no greater joy than what I feel when I can see the moment someone realizes they have been heard, they are being seen, and someone cares about their struggles or challenges. I’ve lived a lot of life in these 40 + years. I’ve had many experiences both good and bad but all of which I have come to understand the purpose for. I choose to believe the Lord created me for a purpose larger and myself and that I am meant to use what I have been through or witnessed to help others in the midst of their struggles. No judgment, only love born from humility is served. It is my hope that through this business venture I can help facilitate a nurturing and supportive environment to boost you in your journey of self-growth.
My educational and work history goes like this: I graduated in 2006 with an AAS in Advanced Therapeutic Massage from Miller-Motte Technical College in Charleston, SC. I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 17 years. I needed a bit more challenge as apparently raising 7 children would simply not do, and I went back to school to complete an AA in Pre-Nursing from Pensacola State College. Then, I needed the BSN from the University of South Alabama. ‘Go Jags!’ Yes, I’m still working as a nurse in the ER. as a Forensic Nurse team member, in Baldwin County’s FIRST SANE Program. Love that we finally have this last one for our community!
The medical tattoo journey started during a time when I didn’t know if I’d get to continue in the nursing field so I looked to reinvent myself but still keep true to myself and seek a way to help. A friend of mine and I set out to gain a new perspective and learned the need is great in the medical tattoo arena. During this adventure, I have fallen in love with the ability to make not only a physical impact but, for some, a spiritual and emotional one as well. I have traveled across the United States to seek Medical Tattoo & Permanent Makeup training from the field’s most experienced professionals. Many who have brought their experience and expertise from all over the world to teach advanced tattooing skills, here in the states. I’ve learned not only the skills of the trade but a love for the work and the people it impacts.
During my training, I’ve had the tremendous blessing to work with burn victims, breast cancer survivors, survivors of self-harm, and men and women alike with surgical and life scarring. I’ve seen first hand the difference it can make in someone’s life to have a physical scar worked on and the appearance fade into the background along with the daily reminder of the emotional pain held within those very scars.
I hope to work within my community and collaborate with other specialized professionals to help get people where they need to be for whole-body wellness.
Remember: WE are the difference, in OUR community.
